Stats for Week 10, ending 12 November 2011:
Hmmm the question Critical is asking himself is, is posting too often, bad? Are this week's individual page views down because Critical is posting too often? Or is it because Readers go backwards and scan older updates which increases view counts for older posts? Have a look for yourself:
This week's view counts, with multiple posts per day. |
Last week's view counts, with only daily posts. |
Only 13 days into November and already almost reaching October's view count!!! |
84 posts in 10 weeks, phew thats alotta work.
PS: Remember if you're a loyal Critical Fan, Blog Stats is the post to say hi!
I was reading some articles about blogging, and they say that posting to often is bad, doesn't give enough people a chance to read the articles or something like that
ReplyDeleteThat's ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteCrit,
ReplyDeletePosting daily at a set time is the best way to get your blog more "hangtime". It will consistently show at the top of folks blogrolls, which will give you a bit more [unique] views, which in turn get folks to know your name, your blog, your style, etc.
Also, as you get more posts under your belt, the more google can pull words from your posts for all the 'surfer searchers' out there, which, after time, will get more views.
I am not a pro by any means, but if you have any questions, just shoot me an email and I will do my best to answer.
Xsin has it right, it seems the more one posts, the more RSS feed subscribers will fluctuate, but normally it affects views in a positive light.
All this aside, keep up the good work, I always do a read when I see a new post.
The good thing is I do stick to a very strict post schedule. Loyal Critical Fans will know I always do my daily post at exactly the same time, every day, and have done so for the last 2 months. The extra posts just get slotted in between.
ReplyDeleteWell so far no complaints anyway and page views show readers are have a good dig through content. Hope everyone is enjoying themselves.
Thanks for the tips guys.
